*What Are Tokens?
Tokens are the basic parts of text that our system processes. They can be as short as one letter or as long as one word. For example, the word "manager" is one token, while a sentence like "Looking for a job" breaks down into multiple tokens such as "Looking," "for," "a," and "job." The total number of tokens in your documents affects how much processing is needed, which in turn impacts the cost of using our service.
How Tokens Are Used in Our Services
Our service performs various tasks to help you optimize your resume and match it with job ads. Each task consumes a certain number of tokens based on the amount of text processed and the complexity of the task. Here’s how tokens are used in different tasks:
- Resume & Job Ad Scan: This task analyzes both your resume and the job advertisement to find matches and areas for improvement. The system processes all the text in both documents, which consumes tokens based on the total word count.
- Cover Letter: When generating a cover letter, the system creates new text tailored to the job you’re applying for. The length and detail of the cover letter determine the number of tokens used.
- Check List: Creating a checklist involves generating specific items to ensure your resume meets all necessary criteria, such as verifying that your contact details are correct, highlighting your achievements, and providing best practices for resume formatting. The number of items and their descriptions influence the token consumption.
- Optimize Resume: Optimizing your resume may involve adding specific keywords to better align with the job description. Each keyword added consumes a certain number of tokens.
- Remove Keyword: Remove Keyword refers to the keywords that have been previously added during the optimization process. If you decide to remove any of these keywords from your resume, each removal consumes tokens.
Token Consumption Example
To help you understand how tokens are used, here's an example based on a resume with 600 words and a job ad with 500 words:
Task | Average Token Consumption |
---|---|
Resume & Job Ad Scan | 4,500 |
Cover Letter | 2,500 |
Check List | 2,300 |
Optimize Resume | 400 (per keyword) |
Remove Keyword | 600 (per keyword) |
By understanding how tokens are utilized in each task, you can better manage your usage and optimize costs effectively.
Testimonials
I found it helpful to use some online tools to make sure my resume had keywords in it that matched the types of jobs I wanted. Before I did that I was getting maybe 1 or 2 calls a month about jobs and after it was almost daily. For those asking what I used: I'm sure I used other services too but I remember Resume Scanner AI the most. I put in like 10 different jobs listings and tailored it for each of those.
